![]() Therefore, it can enhance the details of 3D models without further subdivision. Normal map can add details to low poly models without additional vertices. Normal maps are usually blue, purple or greenish. The word ‘fake’ means those extra bumps and dents do not actually exist on the model.įake bumps and dents created by normal map So that it can make additional details appear on 3D models. What is a Normal Map?Ī normal map is a texture mapping technique used by rendering engines to fake the lighting of bumps and dents of a surface I am not sure what the next option is, unless i open a ticket with the support team.In this article, you will learn what normal map is, the difference between the normal formats of DirectX and OpenGL and its importance.īesides, the expected normal formats by common 3D software will be listed. I think i have covered all equations for importing the model, unless there are any other tricks anyone can share. The model dissapears when i click on any one of the sculpting tools. All this running the software as both normal and as administrator. I have tried saving the file into its native 3B format and re opening the file. I have clicked on both 'Yes and No' on the 'Keep Initial Scale' option when importing the model into the Sculpt room. I have tried changing from 'S' Surface representstion back to 'V' Voxel representation during different import tests. I have added another Volume layer on seperate tests for importing the model. On all imports the voxel tree shows Two layers, Root and Volume. I have imported basic preset models using both the Start up splash screen, and selecting from the File/Import menu. I am now importing just the basic preset OBJ models that come with 3D Coat into the Sculpt Room, i.e Cylinder, Square, Sphere.etc. Have uninstalled both versions of 3D Coat, deleted all the files in the document folder and reinstalled version 4.1.17D. I would like to upload the model and add screenshots but the tools in the forum do not allow me to do this. ![]() At present i am running both Poser Pro 2014 and 11 until i am sure there are no problems. It is a habit i have to run both software versions until i am convinced the latter is working correctly. I am running 4.1 and 4.5 (Not at the same time of course) Perhaps i should delete one version and try working on the problem on the 4.5 version. Anothe possible cause is that i have read on one of the threads here that i can only run one version of the software on one PC at any one time. I do still intend to uninstall and reinstall as i believe one possible cause lies with whatever 3D Coat 4.1 has moved into my USER/DATA 'May' have become confused or corrupted and has crossed over to the new 4.5 version during the data migration process. Running the new version 4.5 is a dream.except for the minor problem of accessing the voxel sculpt tools before my model dissapears. So running as administrator has solved the sparkly lines and strobe effects, freezing screens, crashing etc. I had a monumental epiphany early this morning to go try it. i have all the rooms behaving themselves with the exception of the sculpt room, and this by forgetting the golden rule of 'Right click 3D Coat, Run As Administrator!!'. Although it vanishes off the screen the very bottom information bar shows a count of vertices still present. I have gone into the Voxel Menu at the top of the screen and selected the Unhide Option. Even to save it as a 3B file and open it in 3D coat that way. I have imported several different models in the same way. ![]() This time i Do not click to Bound Centre and just click apply. Scroll down tools options Select Import.ġ5. ![]() Once in i see the model is not aligned with the Gizmoġ3. Select the OBJ model for import into 3D Coat.Ħ. From the splash screen select Voxel Sculpting.ĥ. I have added bullet points below to tell you where i am clicking and pointing throughout the process.ģ. Here is the link to the video, unfortunately without sound. I am unable to figure out how to upload it into the forum so have threw it up on Youtube.
